To direct the day-to-day operations of the Monomers operations ensuring that the company EHS, cost, and production objectives are met or exceeded.  
Scope of Operations: All aspects of operations from the amide cool tank through refined product storage and loading operations.
Key Interfaces: Raw material and product logistics, Maintenance, Operations Supervisors, Operators, EHS organization, Project Group, Improvement Group
The Production Engineer provides direction and information to key interfaces to ensure that day-to-day operations achieve production and EHS goals while adhering to all Site, Corporate and Governmental requirements.
  • Monitor and Control Day-to-day operations to ensure that production targets are met while complying with all EHS standards.
  • Analyzes data and defines solutions to problems enabling quick-hit process improvements and providing assistance in longer term improvements and solutions. 
  • Makes updates to process procedures and SOC’s to ensure documentation accurately reflects unit operations.
  • Responsible to ensure that all process/equipment changes are implemented utilizing the MOC process to ensure appropriate change assessment.
  • Provide coaching and assistance to area operators to enhance their understanding and competence in operating the process.
  • Act as the first point-of-contact for key interfaces:  Raw material and product logistics, Maintenance, Operations Supervisors, Operators, EHS organization, Project Group, Improvement Group.
  • Evaluates production equipment and processes to identify ways to optimize performance while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. 
  • The assigned area is a high hazard operation and requires the job holder to acquire understanding of Major Process Hazard Scenarios and how to mitigate them
  • The job holder must be able to interface and communicate effectively with others who have widely varying positions and backgrounds.
  • Ability to articulate ideas and information verbally and in writing in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in chemical plant environment
  • Ability to work with various engineering drawings such as: process and instrumentation, process flow, logic, and others as needed
  • Proficiency in various engineering software such as: Word, Excel, Aspen, and others as needed
