The candidate must be a team player and will be required to interact closely with sales, marketing, QA/QC, R&D, product development, product stewardship and plant manufacturing groups and personnel to address product related technical issues/concerns and work with the plant personnel to determine corrective actions. The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and will be expected to write detailed technical presentations/reports.
The ideal candidate will be well versed in polymer additives and product approvals necessary for film applications and have demonstrated expertise in the technical service environment. The ideal candidate will also have demonstrated experience and expertise in polyethylene (PE) film extrusion. Experience with additives will also be considered a plus. Knowledge and application of polymer rheology fundamentals and principles will be a plus.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to and implement strategy for the company PE film resin adoption in the North America and International markets
  • Lead the PE film qualification process on behalf of the Polymers Marketing and Sales team
  • Act as the technical adviser of the Polymers team and manage the technical interfaces with all stakeholders
  • Assist the Polymers team with all technical project related work 
  • Review and investigate quality claims pertaining to product or contamination and lead process for resolution
  • Develop and maintain expertise regarding the global polymer convertor industry, product and application trends
  • Represent the company in a technical, ethical and professional manner at film trade shows, industry associations and exhibits
  • Assist in assessing, developing, implementing and managing the promotion of Polymers products and the company name in the Americas
  • Develop, maintain and improve relationships with customers in the Americas
  • Work closely with and advise customers regarding new product lines and business developments on an ongoing basis
  • Develop optimal service and product packages for each customer in the Americas
  • Assist in maintaining and growing sales volumes and market share for the company Polymers products with existing and new customers in the Americas
  • Provide additive optimization support
  • Provide technical support for production plants
  • Assist in the commercialization of new resins at the plants
  • Assist with on-site support as needed for plant start-ups
  • Promote Safety and Operational Excellence
  • Provide weekly updates and monthly reports
 
Experience and/or Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree in Plastic Materials preferred
  • Minimum 10 years technical service experience with 6 or more years of experience in the chemical and/or polymers industry, experience in PE film applications preferred
